Counterpoise

Counterpoise
The tension held within Succulents fascinates me.  They bloat and swell through the retention of water, causing the plant to expand and bulge from within. Encased by their outer skin, they flourish, stretch and evolve in response to constant care and attention.
Though my current ceramic work, I am paying homage to the many beings that I surround myself with. Playing with form and function my intention is to create contemporary sculptural ceramic planters in response to the same tension inherent in the succulents which surround me.
